Finding expired domains

In short

Expired domains are found via deletion and RGP lists of the respective TLD, via marketplaces and by targeted research by keyword, extension and deletion date. Finding is only the first step — the subsequent vetting decides whether a domain is worthwhile.

Typical sources

  • RGP/deletion lists of the respective registry or specialised services (e.g. for .de).
  • Free lists of already-deleted, re-registrable domains.
  • Marketplaces for already-traded expired domains.

Filter by sensible criteria

Search by keyword, extension, domain age and deletion date. Criteria like DOMinDOM, backlink value and TLD prevalence help pre-select.

After finding: vet

Before you register, check history and link profile — see vetting expired domains.

Domain knowledge grounded in official sources

Registry rules and periods come from primary sources such as DENIC, nic.at or EURid — with source link and access date. Editorial review and sign-off are human, and economic affiliations are disclosed.
