Auth code (AuthInfo)
The password that authorises a domain transfer between providers.

Backorder
A pre-order to automatically register a domain the moment it becomes available.

ccTLD
A country-specific top-level domain, e.g. .de, .at, .ch.

Domain parking
Pointing unused domains to a monetisation or sales page.

Domain trading
Buying and selling domains, often via marketplaces.

Drop-Catching
Registering a domain the instant it is publicly released.

Expired Domain
A domain whose registration has lapsed and which can become available again.

Principle: whoever validly claims first gets the domain.
